Following a competitive pitch, SMILE has been appointed to create a lifecycle mentoring and recruitment platform for the University of Essex. This will allow students, prospective students, staff, alumni and external partners to engage in one-to-one conversations in a dedicated and safe online space. This take on social validation will allow the university to further support their global community, and observe the wants and needs of all involved and respond in a timely and effective manner. The appointment will see SMILE work with University staff to create a bespoke approach to mentoring.
Hannah Whiting, Project Officer at the University of Essex, said:
“We’re really pleased to be working with SMILE on this project. They have experience of working within Higher Education Institutions and clearly understand the student lifecycle, which is essential for us. I’m confident that our new mentoring platform will allow our users to engage and communicate more effectively, build relationships and increase feelings of belonging at Essex.”
Nathan Monk director at SMILE, said:
“After an extended pitch process, we’re over the moon to have been appointed this contract. We’ve been working on making university communications more personal, timely and authentic for years, and this project clearly embodies those three principles to the fullest extent.”
