In order to feature Testimonials as part of your Hijacks, you first need to build a database of Testimonial entries which can be âpulledâ into your individual events as and when required. The two main advantages of this are:
- Featuring Testimonials within a Hijack will eventually be as easy as selecting the name of a testimonial in a dropdown list on its configuration page. See this tutorial for more information.
- Once a Testimonial entry has been saved, it can be reused as many times as you like in as many different Hijacks as you like, potentially saving you and your team hours of needless extra work!
Adding a new testimonial entry
Click on âTestimonialsâ in the sidebar of the WordPress dashboard in order to list your database of Testimonials. Click âAdd Newâ to make a new entry.
You will be presented with a basic form to fill out. Use the âAdd Titleâ field for the name of the individual who is providing the testimonial and use the âQuoteâ field to detail what they have to say. There also exists a âQualificationâ field which can be filled out with any information (it could even be a job title) you would like to appear alongside the individualâs name.
Use the âSet Featured Imageâ tool to the right of the form in order to upload or add an image to accompany the testimonial on the front end.
Once you have finished the entry, be sure to click the blue âPublishâ button on the right hand side of the screen in order to save the testimonial into your database.
