Sometimes you can run into problems when uploading large media files to your site, even when they are under the maximum file size. This most often occurs with PDFs and videos, where things like resolution and bitrate can make a file too large to upload.
To avoid this problem, we advise ensuring that your files are web-optimised.
For PDFs, this often means saving a compressed web version specifically for your website, rather than uploading a high-fidelity print-quality version.
For videos, it’s a good idea to save your web file with a moderate bitrate.
In either case, if you aren’t able to save a fresh output of your file, you can find tools online to compress or re-optimise your file. If, after compression, you’re still getting errors when you try to upload get in touch and we’ll be happy to try and help.
