Online Events by SMILE, at WPCampus 2020

Join us as we take a look back on SMILE at WPCampus 2020. Watch our talk about online events and how Hijack helped our clients through the COVID-19 pandemic.

In July 2020, Nathan Monk from SMILE joined the roster of speakers at WPCampus. SMILE were also a sponsor for the conference – our first virtual event sponsorship!

Nathan (our co-founder and Solutions Architect) ran a session on behalf of SMILE, titled: “What is Hijack and how does it help prospective students when they can’t visit campus?”

Nathan showed how we’ve helped universities figure out their strategies for online events. He discussed the problems with and importance of open-houses and virtual visits. Given the timing, there is a natural correlation to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it also looks to a world post-pandemic. In the session, we took a look at the response to moving these events online and what this means for the future. In this talk, we showcased our tool Hijack. Nathan demonstrated how you can add Hijack to your site and how it helps prospective students make life-changing decisions.

The session is aimed at those interested in marketing and recruitment. The solution offered is based on WordPress, so it may also be of interest to those who want to see how WP can be used with a React front-end.
